Geoff Mulgan – how can we re-energise social and political imagination?

KEYNOTE SPEECH. This talk will argue that we have a deficit of imagination – creative, compelling ideas about how our society could be better in 30-50 years time.
19 Nov 11:00 - 11:45
Location: Ragnarock

We have plenty of technological imagination and a lot of distopian thought, but surprisingly little serious work on social futures. This is both a cause and effect of pervasive pessimism about the future.

The talk will look at three main fields: the world of politics and government, the world of universities and social science and, finally, the role of the arts.

At GRASP, Geoff Mulgan will be present via a live large-screen broadcast.

The language used in this event is English.
