Musicon is both an offspring of a festival, which rebuilds itself from scratch every year, of an interdisciplinary university approach to research and new knowledge as well as a historical city with a global heritage and proud traditions.
The creative community and the big impact of Roskilde Festival has led to the creation of a creative environment and image for the city of Roskilde, which has furthermore led to the development of a new creative neighbourhood.
Musicon is a particular example of urban planning that involves local creative communities as a part of the planning strategy – but creative place-making and temporary use are widespread phenomenons.
Andreas Høegh, head of the secretary of Musicon, will introduce the vision and idea of Musicon and initiate a conversation with other actors of urban and creative space making. Look forward to meeting Shain Shapiro from Center for Music Eco Systems, Mette Søs Lassesen from Rambøll and Liselott Stenfeldt from Gehl Architects.
