Experience Esben Holk’s opening speech at GRASP 2025

On imagination, community, and the future

“So the rapture didn’t happen. It could have been Ragnarök, it could have been the end of the world. And we would have been the end-core cuties. It would have been the collapse of the known.”

These were the words of visual artist Esben Holk, who helped open GRASP Vidensfestival 2025. With his inspiring and poetic speech about imagination, community, and the future, he set the scene for the festival’s programme.

After the speech, we caught up with him in front of his art installation Synthesizing Utopias and asked him to revisit his words – about art as a compass in a time that calls for new ways of dreaming and acting.
