SYMPOSIUM FEED Baggrund

Music, Hope, and Agency

Can music and art make a difference for five NGOs?

That question is the starting point for SOUND Mission, where musicians collaborate with NGOs to shed light on concrete societal issues in new ways through artistic approaches and practices.

The aim of SOUND Mission is not necessarily to develop solutions or provide clear answers, but to explore what happens when creative forces and NGOs work together around a shared agenda. What new thoughts, perspectives, and ideas emerge, and can this strengthen the organizations’ work?

This GRASP Pop-up marks the conclusion of SOUND Mission. Here, you can meet the NGOs, the musicians, and the artistic projects that have emerged along the way. Come and discover how unexpected collaborations can lead to new ways of thinking about change.

At the event, you can experience music and poetry about body ideals and gender stereotypes, an imagined sound work about “the public conversation,” mechanical birds giving voice to the insects Denmark has lost over the past 30 years, explore nature from children’s perspectives with the mission of creating a generation of future optimists, and join in communal singing from a new climate songbook. Along the way, you will gain insight into the process and the dilemmas that can arise when artists and civil society work together.

You will also have the opportunity to engage in conversations about how you can bring artistic methods and perspectives into new contexts, and what we can build on from the experiences of SOUND Mission.

Coffee and tea will be served during the event, and there will be an opportunity to enjoy a cold beer or soft drink at the end. Participation is free, but registration is required.
