Maker Summit 2026: We build together

SATURDAY 3 OCTOBER

Makers meet to share ideas, create, inspire, and learn together.

  • Saturday 3 October

Fablabs and Makerspaces are about democratising and reclaiming the ability and right to create functional physical objects. They are about repairing, adapting and modifying technology. We want to have full ownership of, understanding of, and the ability to share knowledge about the inner workings of the technology we all use every day.

Orange Makers and Fablab RUC are organising this gathering as part of GRASP's overarching ambition to create spaces for engaging with and challenging the conditions we live under, while developing sustainable practices for both our living conditions and the environment. The aim is to bring together makers and festival participants to meet and connect. It is an opportunity for practitioners and enthusiasts from Makerspaces and Fablabs in local communities, schools, libraries and universities to hear inspiring presentations, exchange knowledge and discuss how the Maker movement can contribute to solving global challenges, while learning from each other's experiences and best practices.

The format is informal and open, allowing a wide range of makers to share their knowledge, experiences and ideas. We will mingle and host an open soapbox session, where you are invited to give a five-minute presentation about something you or a makerspace has been working on over the past year. This way, we can all be inspired and learn from one another.
