- Thursday 1 October
Companies possess a distinct power to drive change. They can make decisions quickly, turn ideas into action, and generate innovation at a pace that neither politics nor civil society can always match.
But what does it take to harness that power? Which changes can the business sector drive faster than the rest of society? And what does it demand of leaders to act on the knowledge we already have about climate change and sustainability?
Drawing on experience from companies of different sizes, ownership structures, and ambitions - from small and medium-sized enterprises to democratically owned and large companies - we explore where the power of change is taking root in the business world, and how courage, innovation, and decisive action are turned into practice. We also draw inspiration from Marcus Feldthus, author of the book Smådriftsfordele ("The Advantages of Small Scale"), who challenges the habitual thinking that bigger and more is always better.
