The War We Carry

FRIDAY 2 OCTOBER

Film screening and Q&A on displacement, faith and hope amid the civil war in Myanmar.

  • Friday 2 October

In the film The War We Carry, we meet Hninn, a diligent student who dreams of becoming a nun. Suddenly, her freedom is taken away, and her family is confronted with the brutal civil war that erupts in Myanmar in 2021.

Over the following years, we witness the family’s constant fear as they struggle to find safety. Yet within the sanctity of their family, their faith, and their deep emotional bonds, they find courage, strength, and even moments of joy as they fight their way toward freedom in a country torn apart by violent political conflict.

After the screening, the audience is invited to an inclusive Q&A session, offering an opportunity to explore the film’s themes and production in greater depth.
