Earthly Belongings and Imaginations

THURSDAY 26 SEPTEMBER

Are you ready to discover innovative solutions for a sustainable future?

  • Thursday 26 September
    Værkstedet, 15:00

This panel will challenge you to rethink our shared existence on a planet where boundaries and crises are constantly evolving. Engage with leading scholars, artists, and activists who are pioneering new ways to understand and live in harmony with our environment.

You can experience four voices:

  • Linda Lapina & Liene Jurgelane: "Listening for meadow time(s)"
  • Georg Jagunov: Co-existence of moss and humans in build environments
  • Anette Stenslund: Negative Capability and Regenerative Spaces: Rethinking Ethics in Landscapes and Urban Design
  • Marta Padovan-Özdemir: The circle of life? - a dispositive of renewability, livability and disposability in the Danish "ghetto"

As climate change and biodiversity loss dominate the headlines, less visible but equally critical conflicts over land, resources, and identity are escalating. This dynamic panel discussion delves into the complicated issues stemming from capitalist extractivism, population growth, urbanization, and accelerating material demands. How do we navigate these crises? How can we reshape our academic and artistic practices to foster a deeper sense of Earthly belonging and coexistence?

Experience firsthand the innovative approaches that bring us closer to nature in our urban spaces, from city streets to green meadows. Learn to empathize with other species and explore emotional connections that inspire sustainable living. Envision and co-create new imaginaries for Earth as a thriving, interconnected community. And be part of the conversation that seeks out new forms of coexistence and liveability.
