Youth Culture – Created by Youth

FRIDAY 27 SEPTEMBER

How can we include young people as co-creators of the cultural scene?

  • Friday 27 September
    Eventscenen, 13:30

How do we reach the youth? And how do we invite them to take ownership and engage as the cultural creators of the future? For many cultural institutions, this can seem entirely utopian. Nevertheless, it is essential for a sustainable cultural life to involve the actors and consumers of tomorrow. It is time to share knowledge and exchange methods across art forms and organizations.

Projects like Aarhus Volume, Delta Festival, and Museum Ragnarock demonstrate how young people can play a central role in the development and execution of cultural offerings. Meet Louise Sophie Søeborg from Delta Festival, Albert F. Helmig from Aarhus Volume, and Tine Moberg from Ragnarock. The conversation is moderated by Mikael Pass from Polyfon/Music City Roskilde.

Together with young people from the projects, the panel will delve into concrete examples and methods for developing creative spaces where young people aged 10-20 feel motivated to create cultural content for youth.

The session is open to questions and inputs from the audience, so everyone in the room can contribute to the dialogue about the future of cultural life. You will leave the panel with new ideas on how to involve young people as co-creators in your projects, both in the cultural sector and other industries. Maybe the young target group is not so unreachable after all?

Youth Culture – Created by Youth is presented in collaboration with RAGNAROCK - The Museum for Pop, Rock and Youth Culture and Polyfon/Music City Roskilde.
