Our voices are dreams of the future

A celebration of neurodiversity and new ways of seeing the world

Step into a world of words and colours as artist Julie Nymann invites you to explore the strengths that emerge when navigating a world not designed for everyone.

As one of the 700 million people living with dyslexia – over 500,000 of whom are in Denmark – Julie Nymann offers a unique perspective on how alternative skills and strategies can make a difference in a society where text plays an enormous role.

At Roskilde Festival, 2025, in the Gloria foyer, you can experience her large-scale installation, Vores stæmmer er framtidsdrømme (in English: our voices are dreams of the future). The installation will then travel to GRASP in Hall 7, where sculpture, color, and language challenge myths and prejudices, encouraging reflection on the lenses through which we view ourselves and each other. You are invited to interact with the installation and imagine a society that celebrates abilities over limitations and embraces our neurodiversity.

Julie Nymann is a multidisciplinary artist, educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen (2024). Her work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. Through her artistic practice, Julie Nymann tells a story of believing in and embracing neurodiversity. Her works spark conversations about vulnerability, mutual growth, and pride in being different, while highlighting the strength found in togetherness.

The installation is presented by Roskilde Festival Gruppen in collaboration with Art Hub Copenhagen.
