- Thursday 25 September
When we design the architecture of the future, it is about our view of people – and why it is both valuable and necessary to include everyone. Regardless of ability. This is one of the core messages in architect Camilla Ryhl’s book “Universal Design – On enabling and empowering a diverse population.”
Experience Camilla Ryhl’s lecture at GRASP 2025 and gain new insights into how the concept of Universal Design can be understood and operationalized in future architecture and urban development with a stronger focus on social sustainability.
Following the lecture, a panel will gather on stage for a conversation about universally designed and sensorial architecture – about an approach to creating spaces and environments that give art a central role.
Taking as a starting point the artwork “The Long Way Around” by artist Jessie Darling, created for Roskilde Festival 2025, the panel will explore how art, sensoriality, and inclusion can be more deeply integrated into the architecture of the future.
It is about art, sensorial architecture, our view of humanity, and how we value the need to include everyone – regardless of ability – when this panel comes together at GRASP 2025.
