The Pluriverse as Challenge

Between Difference and Belonging

The opportunities and resources needed to achieve social and environmental justice are unevenly distributed across the world. So how can we build strong alliances and communities in a global context shaped by conflict, colonial history, and injustice – without reinforcing destructive power dynamics?

Using examples from both the Global North and South, the panel will explore this question and ask:

Can we create a “complex we” – a shared sense of purpose that acknowledges our differences, embraces tensions, and respects the many ways of being and knowing that unfold within this pluriverse?

And can this kind of “we” be capable of imagining and working toward a new kind of politics – one that moves beyond today’s planetary destruction and towards a more just and sustainable future?
