Unleash your imagination

FRIDAY 26 SEPTEMBER

Why being an imagination activist matter

  • Friday 26 September

What if we, right now, unleash our imagination, and do everything we possibly can to move from climate and ecological breakdown to a future where people are thriving in balance with Earths life support systems?

There are an infinite number of possible futures that lie ahead —like threads stretching out into the distance. Some descending into darkness, others stretching towards the light.

Join a crew of seasoned, time-traveling imagination activists as they guide us toward futures worth living for.

Kate Raworth will set our course with a compelling vision of a future worth aiming for. Rob Hopkins will crank our cynicism suspenders and help us fall in love with the future. Jacob Rask will take us on a journey through time to unearth the seeds of a flourishing future in the places of the past. And Phoebe Tickell will boost our moral imaginations, and steer the panel safely back to the present.

Participants

  • Kate Raworth, renegade economist focused on making economics fit for 21st century realities. Creator of the Doughnut of social and planetary boundaries, and co-founder of Doughnut Economics Action Lab.
  • Rob Hopkins, co-founder of Transition Network and of Transition Town Totnes, and author of several books including ‘The Transition Handbook‘ and most recently, ‘From What Is to What If: unleashing the power of imagination to create the future we want’.
  • Phoebe Tickell, renegade scientist, systems thinker and social entrepreneur, passionate about creating opportunities for transformation of people - and through that, transformation of society and the planet.
  • Jacob Rask, Sustainability Educator at Roskilde University and writer.

This session is presented by BLOX:HUB and Roskilde University.
