- Thursday 25 September
Urban centers consume more than 75 percent of natural resources. They generate over 50 percent of solid waste, and emit up to 60 percent of greenhouse gases, contributing to pollution, climate change, and biodiversity loss.
In this workshop, Julian Kirchherr, Associate Professor at Roskilde University and partner at McKinsey & Company, and Mugur Schuppler, PhD candidate at Utrecht University and Senior Consultant at McKinsey & Company, will present groundbreaking insights from one of the world’s largest datasets on circular cities, covering around 30 global frontrunners.
Get an overview of the current state of the circular economy, including European and global policies, innovative business models, and emerging startup trends and gain insights into new academic research on cities as key arenas for circular transformation. You will also have the opportunity to develop ideas on how Roskilde can shape its own path toward circularity.
