- Thursday 1 October
AI is no longer merely a technical tool, but an active participant in art, culture and cultural dissemination. This session opens with a brief, research-based presentation on visions for the interaction between humans and machines at a time when AI is shaping both practices and conceptions of the future. Drawing on the concept of socio-technical imaginaries, the argument is made that we need positive and pluralistic visions of the future with AI – as alternatives to the dominant narratives from the tech industry.
The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion in which artists, cultural practitioners and researchers will discuss how such visions can be developed, shared and put into practice in cultural contexts.
The conversation opens up new perspectives on how positive visions can become a driving force for a future with AI in cultural life.
