Critical sustainability studies help us keep an eye on the blind spots and darker sides of the green transition, while also searching for the cracks that open up space for what may follow the critique. As nourishment for this critical-constructive exploration, the session begins with a reading by author and land-activist Shekufe Heiberg from her sci-fi novels “Nødder" and "Støv & spind”. This is followed by a conversation between Heiberg and three leading researchers in social sustainability - Katia Dupret, Jo Krøjer, and Marta Padovan-Özdemir - on how regenerative, feminist, and decolonial perspectives can shed light on the epistemological, practical, and political implications of working toward socially just sustainability transitions.
